I started contradancing as an undergraduate when I was treasurer of the Cornell Outing Club - a small part of our funds came from the dances we threw.  I still get a quasi-religious thrill out of the filial, romantic and community bonding that occurs in our subculture.

When I decided to start a contradance theme camp at Burning Man, I had never been before.  Fortunately I had lots of good advice from many experienced burners especially Roger Wilson, and when I started an online discussion group to organize the event experienced burners Doug McLean and Phillip Garrison were especially helpful.  My gratitude goes out to all the great dancers, musicians and callers too numerous to mention who helped through the years.
